Our Facility

Operating since 1993 as a Bed & Breakfast, Balmoral House has been a pioneer among establishments of its kind in St. John’s, and holds the distinction of being the first officially licensed B&B in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Balmoral House is a semi-detached upscale medieval-style British townhouse, originally designed for the esteemed upper entrepreneurial class. Through meticulous refurbishment, we have recreated the ambiance of a charming boutique hotel while preserving our unique decor. All artwork displayed throughout the house is authentic. To enhance our guests’ evening relaxation, we offer top-of-the-line television programming and the fastest internet/WiFi service available in St. John’s.

Complimentary Breakfast

Each morning 8 – 10 am, our guests are welcome to a Self-service Deluxe Continental Breakfast featuring a variety of items, including fresh fruit, steaming coffee, herbal teas, and the house specialties. Furthermore, we are pleased to offer gluten-free and lactose-free items for breakfast upon your request.

Purified Drinking Water & Ice

We have taken an extra step and provide our guests with Purified Drinking Water and Ice Cubes. Bottled water is also available at our establishment.

Free Parking - Entire Downtown

Upon your arrival, we will gladly provide you with a parking permit for your vehicle at no additional cost. You are welcome to park your vehicle anywhere along the street in front of our property. Our parking permit allows you to park anywhere in downtown designated area for free. You will find this feature super convenient.

Express Check-in

For your safety and convenience, we offer contactless check-in. Our check-in time begins at 2:00 pm, and we are pleased to welcome you at any time thereafter, including late check-ins and arrivals after midnight. You are welcome to arrive at your convenience, as we are readily available to assist you.

Check-out: 11:00 am
(We could store your luggage for later departure.)

Afternoon Refreshments & More

Every afternoon, we take pleasure in offering our guests a selection of refreshing beverages. During warmer weather, we provide options such as herbal tea, coffee, and orange juice to quench your thirst.

For your convenience, we have a computer with high-speed internet access in the common area, available free of charge to our guests. Feel free to use it to check emails, make pre-boarding flight arrangements, and more.

If you have a fondness for reading, our “Book Exchange” service, also known as “Leave a book, take a book,” might pique your interest.
