About – Balmoral House

Our Facility

Operating since 1993 as a Bed & Breakfast, Balmoral House was one of the few establishments of its type in St. John’s, and the first officially licensed B&B in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Balmoral House is semi-detached upscale medieval-style British townhouse, built for the established upper entrepreneurial class. Refurbished to its original condition, we have created the ambience of a small boutique hotel while maintaining our unique decor. All art exhibited throughout the house is authentic. For our guests’ entertainment in the relaxing evening hours, we have available the ultimate television programming, and the fastest internet/WiFi service available in St. John’s.

*Our property is not suitable for anybody having difficulty with staircases.

Complimentary Breakfast

Each morning 5 am – 10 am, guests enjoy a complimentary Deluxe Continental Breakfast with a variety of items, fresh fruit, steaming coffee, herbal teas, and the house specialties.

High Tea Tuesdays & Fridays

In addition to the daily afternoon refreshments available for our guests at no extra cost, every Tuesday and Friday at 3 pm, you can join us and enjoy our complimentary high tea.

Afternoon Refreshments & More

Each afternoon we have a few refreshments waiting for our guests. In warm weather, some herbal tea, coffee, or orange juice will wet your whistle.

Computer with high-speed Internet is located in the common area, free of charge to our guests to check emails, make pre-boarding flight arrangements, etc.

If you enjoy reading books, you may like our “Book Exchange” service, also known as: “Leave a book, take a book.”

A moderate variety of White & Red Wines are also available for purchase at reasonable restaurant prices.

Purified Drinking Water

We have taken an extra step and provide our guests with Purified Drinking Water and Ice Cubes. Bottled water is also available at our establishment.

Free Parking

Upon arrival, you will be provided with a parking permit for your vehicle at no extra charge. You can park anywhere on the street in front of our property.

Express Check-in / out

Check-in: Anytime After 2:00 pm
(Late and after midnight Check-in is not a problem.)

Check-out: 11:00 am
(We could store your luggage for later departure.)
